Our story began on an organic farm just outside of Alma, Wisconsin. It was July, 2013, and was an attempt only to make a batch of plain lard soap. We did almost everything wrong. Although we used it, the soap smelled faintly of lard and was not very good. We still had a lot to learn about soap making.
What began as a hobby eventually grew into a small business. We had old-fashioned ideas about simpler times, and wanted to make natural products that reflected that as much as possible.
We have now poured hundreds of batches of soap in many unique combinations. Some soaps were exceptional, and others were not. We gave lots of bars away, and asked for lots of feedback.
We now make at least a few outstanding soaps, and you will find many here from which to choose. As always, we love to know what you think.
