The Best Lotion You May Ever Use

Description

Our lotions are made with high-end oils that you will rarely find in commercial lotions. There is a profound difference in quality. We continue to test new formulations and are excited about how that is going.

I used to think that lotions were boring. For years I personally used only oil blends, which we make here, and left the lotions for others. Now I use only the lotions (in combination with our liquid balms). There are things we can do with lotion that we simply cannot do with just the oils, and I have a whole new appreciation for them.

Note that the ‘scent’ used is almost always separate from the formula. Although there is a strong correlation between the perceived quality of a lotion and its scent, we ask that testers do their best to judge each separately. As testing completes sometime in 2021 we will settle on a small number of formulations, along with the most well-liked scents, and list them for sale accordingly.

All fragrances presently used are 100% essential oils except for one. We will most likely discontinue that one once we are done testing.

All of our lotions are made with some combination of the following ingredients: almond, apricot, avocado, cocoa butter, coconut, fractionated coconut, grapeseed, hempseed, jojoba, macadamia nut, meadowfoam, mineral, monoi butter, olive, shea butter, tamanu, and/or walnut oils. Distilled water (which is boiled in process), emulsifying wax and/or BTMS (a conditioning emulsifier). Stearic acid, isopropyl myristate, olive squalane, vitamin E, glycerin, rose water (or other hydrosol), silk amino acids, arrowroot, allantoin, essential oils, and a germicide/preservative (we use Optiphen Plus, the only one that does not contain propylene glycol).

  • Vitamin E and a preservative/germicide is added to each lotion.
  • All (at this time) have a medium consistency, neither thick nor thin, although there is some variance between them. ANY lotion we make can be thickened if desired.

I recently acquired some of Uncle John’s Lotions again after missing them for quite some time. I was punishing (yes, punishing) myself, trying to use up junk lotions I had bought from Bath and Body Works and Nivea, to name a couple. Ick!
I feel as if my skin is new again now that I have his lotions back on my bathroom counter. Nothing moisturizes like these, and I have tried so many lotions over the years because of my extremely dry skin. My skin absorbs Alma lotion in a way that doesn’t feel like just a layer over my skin—it ‘drinks’ it! If you haven’t given these a try, please do. And he has such light pleasant scents too. Ladies, try the Musk Rose and men, try the Sandalwood. You won’t regret it. Thanks for taking the time to read my lengthy review.
Side note: I’ve tried all of these lotions and Litsea might be my favorite, but I particularly love all of 10-13a. That’s not saying the rest aren’t wonderful too, but I have to pick a favorite or 4. ?
Another side note: I would not take the time to make a lengthy review like this, unless I truly liked something. These are GREAT.
